Guiding Mosaic 2010 Volunteer Opportunities for Rangers & Trex
Guiding Mosaic 2010 will be held July 8 - 17, 2010, at Guelph Lake Conservation Area in Southern Ontario.

Newsletter Journalist As a Newsletter Journalist, you will be responsible for the creation of appropriate articles to showcase camper activities and personal stories for the daily newsletter (GMBUZZ) to be distributed to all participating members of GM2010. As a Newsletter Journalist, your key responsibilities will include the following: • The coverage of all camp activities through writing interesting and engaging stories to highlight camp activities and their participants. • Ensuring that all articles submitted are free of spelling and grammar errors and are written in a tone appropriate for the intended audience. • Work with the Photography Team to obtain appropriate photographs to include with your articles. • Assisting the Newsletter Coordinator with editing and formatting of articles and newsletter as a whole.
Food Services Crew Member (Food Services Delivery Team) As Food Service Crew Member for the Food Services Delivery Team, your key responsibilities will include the following: • Assist camp participants with meal selections at the dining marquees in a helpful and efficient manner • Communicate any camper concerns to Food Service Coordinators • Deliver meals to those unable to access dining marquees during food service hours ie. shift workers in the wellness centre, security • Pack and deliver mug up items to neighbourhoods • Take inventory, deliver and restock locations throughout camp that supply food items ie., hospital, town square
Waterfront Team Members
Dip, Dip and Swim!!! Lifeguards, canoe instructors, kayak instructors are being sought for GM2010. Come share your talents and skills with girl and guiders from across Canada as we celebrate 100 years of Guiding. An exciting, active 10 day program has been developed and we are currently seeking qualified waterfront applicants.
Lifeguard: Supervise and prevent emergencies during the campers swim times. Must be at least 16 years old and possess a current NLS and Standard First Aid Certificate. Lifesavers: Assist the Lifeguards. Must be at least 16 years old and possess a current Bronze Cross and Emergency First Aid Cerficate. Watchers: Watch swimmers, assist aquatic personnel and the general supervision of swimmers. Must be at least 18 years old and be comfortable in and around the water.
Security Crew Sub Team Member: (45 positions available, 3 shifts of 15 members)
As a member of the Security Crew for GM2010, you will work along with members of your team to ensure the efficient execution of all security services for participants at GM2010. One of the requirements of this position is being physical fit and able to walk the site for long periods of time.
Whatever the volunteer role, you'll be guaranteed a truly rewarding and amazing experience that will last a lifetime.
